Photographing newborns and babies takes a lot of calm and patience.
If you are planning for those really cute sleeping baby pictures, plan on scheduling your newborn babies photo session for the first week of life when they are still accustomed to being balled up in the womb.
When you arrive for your photography session – relax and have fun.
Don’t worry if baby doesn’t seem to be cooperating. Now that they’ve been asleep in the car for a little while, they’ll probably wake up when we undress them and think they’re hungry. And after nursing, baby will probably pee or have to poo. This is pretty typical.
( Speaking of poo… if we have your baby’s diaper off and they “go”, you might be surprised or uncomfortable. Just don’t drop the baby. You might feel embarrassed, ashamed, or upset. Please, don’t get worried… After raising 5 children of my own and photographing countless babies, I know this is going to happen just about every time that’s why all of the props, backgrounds and furs are washable. )
Patience is the key to getting great images of your children – especially babies and newborns can sense any apprehension or nervousness in their parents or their photographer.
If you have a newborn, now’s the time to schedule a pre-portrait consultation – because they are only this small once!
