Introducing Maternity Mondays
You may be asking, “Maternity Mondays? What the heck is that?”
For a long time, I’ve wanted to discuss topics and answer questions that are important to my pregnant clients so I’ve decided to dedicate every Monday to maternity and pregnancy related topics here on my blog. I hope you’ll subscribe to my blog and share your thoughts, comments and questions each Monday. 🙂
This week’s topic is the the Importance of Maternity Photos…
The Importance of Maternity Photos
Even though pregnancy comes with a lot of difficult trials, it’s an amazing time in your life. It is a time of celebration and of anticipation as you prepare to meet your little bundle of joy. It’s a time where you become strong – stronger than you ever thought you could possibly be. During this time, you create your initial bond with your child that will continue throughout your entire lives.
Through each of my 5 pregnancies, I remember being so full of tons of creative energy – from wanting to decorate the nursery to planning treats for the other kids so they didn’t feel left out.
But there are very few women who actually feel like they are beautiful while they are pregnant – especially during the first pregnancy. (When I was pregnant with my first baby, Adam, I had morning sickness so bad that I lost 15 pounds before I even started gaining any weight.) However, the miracle of pregnancy is a beautiful thing. Swollen feet, stretch marks, and hormone changes aside – you are growing a real live human being inside of you. All of those side effects come from different things your body has to do to help nourish and protect your baby.
You are beautiful, and you should take the time to celebrate these changes and this amazing moment in your life. These photos will be a great gift to pass down to your child as an heirloom of your first memories with them. This is something they can treasure forever.
Coping with Morning Sickness
These two things worked me: Saltine Crackers by the bedside and Brach’s Peppermints (you know, the little red & white hard candies) in the purse.
If you’re having morning sickness (or have in the past), what worked for you? Share your thoughts below!
