My name is April. I am a photographer.
As the mother of 5 grown children and a retired US Army Reserve Soldier, I am acutely aware of how important family portraits are.
In 2005, I was mobilized to come to El Paso, Texas and separated from my family, who remained in Iowa.
Children grow and change so fast… And you don’t want to forget a minute of it…While I was away, pictures and images really helped us to sustain our memories and maintain our relationship. I can’t imagine how I would have survived without those pictures.
When my 3 year tour of duty came to an end, I chose to become a professional photographer so I could help other families capture and preserve the little moments that fade from memory as we grow older and are separated by distance and passing time.
After 9 years in business and photographing hundreds of deploying soldiers and their families, I’m proud to know my photos are in homes all across America.
I know what beautiful looks like. I can see it in you and your family. I know how to bring it forward, and how to capture it with my camera. I also know what it’s like to be a woman who struggles to see her own beauty. That’s why I’ve made it my mission to create the most beautiful portraits you have ever had. I want to show you how beautiful you are; to help you reconnect with the woman you see in your portraits, and be awed by her again.
